When asked about the role P.A.R.K. played in his life, he said, “I initially entered P.A.R.K. in 1999 with a 1.2 GPA and graduated high school with a 3.5. P.A.R.K. taught me leadership skills, how to become a man, and put God first in all my endeavors.“ With all that he learned from being a student at P.A.R.K., Marcus has earned numerous awards and accolades, such as: P.A.R.K. scholarship, Henderson State Alvin Futrell Diversity scholarship, the Arkansas academic challenge scholarship, and the State Farm scholarship.
Marcus is keeping himself busy while plotting out his future success. He currently mentors for L.O.V.E. Let Our Violence End, is an active member of the Toast Master’s Club, does some real-estate, writes his short and long terms goals, and prays for wisdom. He does all this while working. Marcus said, “I currently manage, mentor, and lead a group of 15 employees using the early life skills taught to me at P.A.R.K.” He wants to continue in a management role, but eventually for himself. He said with the grace of God he will combine his skills in real estate and financial planning and have his own successful business.
“P.A.R.K. turned a young man who had early troubles in life in all areas into being a role model for younger youth in all areas; academics, mentoring, spirituality, fashion, and just being a good listener.”
